"Good Lord, show me the way." -Lyrics, Down to the River to Pray I am not sure I would say this is a "country" album as much as a bluegrass album, but with that out of the way I have to say I really enjoyed it. Some of the oldies (You are my sunshine, Rock Candy Mountain) made me smile with memories of the sing along on the Old Mill Inn where I spent many summer evenings with my grandmother.
My favorite song on this album was definitely Alison Krause's "Down to the River to Pray." I love her voice and the lyrics are so beautiful. There is something lost when we layer so many instruments to everything--this acapella song was stunning! I'm not sure I would listen to this album often, but it was great background while grading and it left me happy. A win!
