"This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man."--Shakespeare So, I have a confession to make. I HATE yard work. If you ask me why I like being from Brush I will tell you I liked growing up in a farming community. If you ask my why I like living in the Ranch, I will tell you that I love the beauty and peace of our neighborhood. But, I have a black thumb and don’t care to figure out how to fix it. This presents a problem. We recently received a summons from the city and a warning from our HOA that our yard needed to be better kept. We started to fight the battle with weeds and bushes and grass and my anxiety level began to grow. Finally, I stopped. Why was I fighting this? I don’t like yard work, and you know what, I don’t have to. So, instead, I found a yard company that will show up tomorrow to mow the lawn, trim the bushes, and pull the weeds. My anxiety stopped almost imediately. Lesson learned? Don’t fight being Jess. It’s ok.
